We’ve checked the long-range weather forecast trying to stay ahead of any forecast bad weather, and this weekend, yes, the first weekend of 2022, would you believe there is snow in the forecasts ? It’s true.
It depends on which forecast center you are looking at as they vary slightly, but from Saturday night through Sunday morning we are looking at around a 35% chance of flurries here in Texarkana.
Then on Sunday night it’s going to drop below zero so brace yourself it looks like this old man’s winter, delayed just a little bit, but he’s on the way for sure.
This week’s forecast:
Monday: Cloudy skies with a slight chance of rain showers, maximum of around 77. Winds from the SSW at 10 -15 mph.
Monday evening: Cloudy with a slight chance of rain, low 68 overnight. Winds south at 10 – 15 mph.
Tuesday: Overcast with a possible shower or thunderstorm, maximum near 77. Winds from the SSW at 10 – 20 mph.
Tuesday evening: Increasing cloud overnight with 50% chance of rain, low around 62. Winds exiting the SSW at 5 – 10 mph.
Wednesday: A colder front will blow, bringing cloudy skies, 80% chance of rain and a maximum of around 70, the rain could also be accompanied by strong and gusty winds.
Wednesday evening: A few clouds around, no mention of rain, and the winds are barely subsiding there. Overnight low of around 51.
Thusday: A mix of sun and cloud Thursday with high around 71, SW winds at 5 – 10 mph.
Thursday evening: Partly cloudy with a nighttime low of around 56, winds will be light and variable.
New Years Eve
Friday: Cloudy with 40% chance of scattered thunderstorms, high near 73. Winds from the SSW at 5 – 10 mph.
Friday night: Cloudy with 70% chance of thunderstorms, low 67 overnight. Winds from the SSW at 10 – 20 mph.
New Years Day
Saturday: Cloudy with 60% chance of thunderstorms, heavy rain is possible. Partly cloudy in the afternoon as a cold front blows and the winds turn SW at 10 – 20 mph. Saturday’s high is expected to be around 71 and then drop as this cold front arrives.
Saturday night: Clouds increasing overnight with showers also developing, about 60% chance of rain and temperature drastically dropping to a low of 33. Winds will emerge from the NW at 10 – 15 mph.
Sunday: Cloudy with 40% chance of flurries, Partly cloudy in the afternoon with a high of around 41. Winds from the NW at 10 – 20 mph.
Sunday night: Clear and cold skies, nocturnal low 27. Winds will be light and variable.
